As part of scaling up climate change supported efforts supported by Panaroma Global and 128 collective , Western Uganda FBO network received support from Korea SHE program to advance climate change communication through inter-faith and inter-cultural sports and poetry. The Western Uganda FBO Network (WUFBON) is a coalition of Faith Based Organizations in Western Uganda, focusing on human Rights, Health, Environment, Conflict resolution, and safety.
Through significant projects like the Joint Initiative for Strategic Religious Action and collaborations with international donors such as the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, WUFBON addresses climate change, Family planning and Freedom of Religion. Additionally, they leverage sports and poetry to promote Environmental awareness, supported by organizations like Panorama Global and KOSHE.
In 2023, WUFBON’s climate initiative in Ugandan districts involved education through various forms and reached 21000+people. The program led to climate education integration, community campaigns, and a political caucus. The outcome was increased environmental stewardship, youth advocacy for policy changes and adoption of indigenous sustainable practices.
